Water Forum 2017

Objective

The goal of Water Forum 2017 is to create a platform for different stakeholders to exchange views on water governance, develop solutions, and raise public awareness to water resource management, including water safety and flood management.

Water Forum is one of the flagship activities of FoE (HK). Since 2014, FoE (HK) has organized four forums in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, raising awareness to the effects of climate change and extreme weather on water resource and flooding. In 2017, FoE (HK) once again co-organized Water Forum with the Water Services Department on the theme of "Climate Change Resilience - Sponge City".

Water Forum 2017 was held in City Hall. Representatives from government departments, academics, and businesses were invited to share their insight and experience. Strategies for managing water resources under climate change and extreme weather, as well as long-term plans to address climate change were covered.

FoE (HK) thanks the support of the Water Services Department, Federations of Hong Kong Industries and other professional associations, as well as the 160 industry leaders, professionals, academics, NGO partners, and our green young leaders, "Sons of Dongjiang".
