“The Earth Academy – City Forest . Forest City” Radio Programme
|
|
We are commissioned to produce CIBS radio programme of RTHK, and launched “The Earth Academy – City Forest . Forest City”programme. It explores how the city forest to enhance our quality of life and increase biodiversity.
In the episode 9 “Soil and Root Constraints”, we will explore the soil and root constraints of trees in a city, latest environmental-friendly landscape management method with Dr. Caroline Law from THEi Faculty of Design and Environment.

In this programme, “Dr. Tree” Prof. Jim Chi Yung from HKU will share trivia of forest city. Green Delight in Estates
|
|
New phase of Green Delight in Estates (GDE) has started. A series of attractive activities will be held such as Fun Days, Green Tours, Clean Recycling Scheme, ‘Food.No Waste’, MSW Auditing Scheme and Home Greening Workshops. It aims to encourage the community to reduce waste, understand the MSW charges and its impact. Residents can also practise BYOB 3 and healthy habits. Please browse our web site for more details.

Support Comedy “Brandon & Louise”
|
|
Environmental activist Louise tries her best to live with zero waste. She even believes a baby has a destructive impact on the environment, on the contrary, her boyfriend Brandon wants to marry her and loves her to bear a baby. Their dramatic conflicts bring lots of jokes and also insights on waste. FoE (HK) recommends “Brandon & Louise” produced by Prospects Theatre to you.

Ms. Mei Ng Newly Elected Chairperson of Board of Governors

Ms. Mei Ng (first row, third from the left) was elected as the new Chairperson of the Board of Governors of FoE (HK), in the meeting of the Board of Governors, effective 29 November 2017.
Ms. Mei Ng thanked the members for placing their trust in her. She also said to continue to lead FoE (HK) to protect our local and regional environment. “I am delighted and honoured to be the Chairperson of the Board of Governors, FoE (HK) again. Our 35 anniversary is coming soon. From strength to
strength, as a leading environmental advocate, we would help create environmentally sustainable public policies, business practices and community lifestyles with government, business and community.”

School Talk “SDG #12: Responsible Consumption and Production - Food”
|
|
The Earth Academy (TEA) is honored to be invited to give a talk on “SDG #12: Responsible consumption and production” to the F.5 students at Tack Ching Girls’ Secondary School. The theme was food, we shared some tips on taking food in an environmentally friendly and healthy way. At the end of the talk, all students committed to “eat more vegetables and less meat” with an aim to alleviate environmental problems by altering their eating habits.

Dialogue with Masters Students from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences
|
|
Our Chairperson, Ms Mei Ng was being invited by the “CASS Exchange Programme 2017” to be interviewed by 23 mainland master’s students. The students expressed keen interests and asked lots of questions about operations and green policy advocacy of our organisation, a non-profit making green group.

Clothes Donation to Kwai Chung Hospital
|
|
It was the 10th consecutive year that we organised the used clothes donation to the patients at Kwai Chung Hospital. We donated winter clothes to more than 300 chronic patients and their families. Thank you for the contribution of the volunteers from the Kwai Chung Hospital and the Kai Hong. For more event photos, please click here.
