Dongjiang Headstream Village Green Project
|
|
The
weeding work for two tree planting sites was carried out in October and
November 2016. The tree seedlings in the two Hong Kong Forest sites
were planted in April 2015 and April 2016. Tree seedlings planted in
spring should be taken care at the same year for various maintenance
activities, such as weeding, top dressing of fertilizer, and so on.
Total over 20,000 tree seedlings were taken care. Villagers at the
headstream of Dongjiang (East River) were helping the weeding work,
which is part
of the grassroot eco-compensation activities of FoE (HK). We appreciate
their effort in the maintenance of the Hong Kong Forest in Xunwu,
Jiangxi Province, China.
